Here’s what Pavel Svoboda (EPP, chairman of JURI) had to say today morning when he was on Czech radio against Petr Mach:
It is good news for those who want a united Europe. Bad news for Putin and other people who want a Europe that fights within.
Small voices should not have the same opportunity of qualified speaking so that it looks like they stand for or represent the same part of citizens as the bigger groups. That is entirely logical.
It will, in fact, mean that the group won’t have the qualified privilege to comment on proposals in the European Parliament, it won’t have the secretariat and various aides and above all it won’t bother those who, in spite of the difference in their opinions, want to constructively build a unifying Europe.
